Introduction

You will find a unique atmosphere in the cosy ambience of the candlelit Tithe Barn. Exclusive photographic opportunities in the grounds. There can be very few settings equal to the Tithe Barn - situated in the grounds of Meols Hall, Churchtown - Southport's historical Manor House, dating back to the 12th Century. Weddings are organised to individual requirements. Facilities available all year. Original cobbled courtyard for a outdoor reception area.

The Tithe Barn at Meols Hall is an ideal venue not only for your Wedding Reception but also for your ceremony completing the perfect setting for your once in a lifetime event. The four hundred year old barn has been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen using traditional methods. The Tithe Barn also boasts a modern fully equipped kitchen, bar facilities and a full sound system. There are also facilities for the disabled. Modern lighting gives a pleasant glow to the interior of the building.

Up to 120 guests can be catered for at a wedding reception, with facilities for an additional 60 guests in the evening. The cobbled courtyard and restored cart sheds make an ideal open-air venue for greeting your guests (weather permitting). We can also offer some splendid locations for your wedding photographs. We are able to provide a complete wedding package of catering, bar service, several styles of furniture, Master of Ceremonies and entertainment of most kinds with Wedding Breakfast. Through our vast network of contacts we can provide most types of wedding transport from a horse drawn carriage to a helicopter. We have negotiated preferential rates for hotel accommodation at some local hotels in Southport. All the hotels we recommend have been personally inspected.

Directions by road

From the North

A565 (Preston/Southport) At the Plough Hotel on the outskirts of Southport take the second exit off the roundabout signpost to Town Centre and follow signs. Alternatively take the left turn (first exit) and follow the road to the Botanic Gardens and Hesketh Arms pub, Meols Hall main gates are opposite.

From the South

A565 (Liverpool/Southport) Pass through the town centre down Lord Street (the main street) and at the northern end take the third exit off the roundabout (Fire Station on the left hand side). Follow signs through three sets of traffic lights to the roundabout (Roe Lane). Then go straight ahead for the Moss Lane entrance. Take the left turn towards Churchtown Village and the Hesketh Arms pub is opposite the main gates.
